During Distribution Week agencies come to Midwest Food Bank to pick up products for their food pantry or soup kitchen. We distribute to 230+ agencies during the week. The process involves the agency selecting the products, the cases of product are moved from pallet to cart and then loaded from the cart into the agency vehicle. While cases may weigh up to 35lbs, we also need volunteers to push carts or to record what products the agency takes. Distribution week volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Because volunteers are working in a warehouse environment no open toed shoes are allowed, i.e. no sandals or flip-flops. Tennis shoes are fine.
