Indypendence Service Dog Seminar and Workshop

Date: Mar 3, 2018 at 10:00am to 5:00pm
Come join us for a FREE educational seminar that focuses on service dog awareness, training and rights. We have several hands-on workshops that cover dog training, basic pet first aid and interactions with therapy dogs. The seminar runs from 10am to 5pm with a break for lunch from 12:40 to 1:40 (lunch is not provided but you may bring a sack lunch or enjoy one of the many places to eat within walking distance on campus). We are excited to introduce our guest speakers that include Paws Giving Independence NFP who will guide you through requirements to get a service dog and how to apply, Joey Ramp who advocates for service dog awareness and handles the first service dog to ever attend a UIUC chemistry and biology laboratory and many other labs across the country, as well as, Dr. Val Farmer-Dougan who is AKC and KPA certified, runs the cognitive canine laboratory at Illinois State University and is the canine behavior expert at Pet Central Helps.
