Women’s Health Night
Illinois Heart and Lung Foundation will be holding its annual event Women's Health Night on Tuesday, April 24th.
Women's Health Night is a free health expo that is open to the public. This year marks the 20th anniversary of WHN. The
event enables participants to improve their health through free, on-site health screenings (including a skin cancer screening),
fitness/yoga demonstrations, and an opportunity to speak with numerous health care providers (get contacts for possible
shadow opportunities!), social service, and health agencies from the Bloomington/Normal community.
I encourage everyone to stop by and attend. It's truly a great event that brings in people from all across the community! It's
an amazing chance for college students to learn what the BloNo community has to offer and see how they can get involved.
If that wasn't enough to catch your attention, this year there will be tons of giveaways including an apple watch, bike + trailer,
gift cards (Destihl, Starbucks, Baxter's, Garlic Press etc), gift baskets from Fox n Hounds, Beau Cheveaux, Refine 309, Uptown
Gifts, Medici etc, a Scooter, yoga mats and numerous other prizes/giveaways!
This is a great opportunity to get any required hours. Please consider signing up and helping out a great cause!

will have a registration survey available soon but below I have listed the available shifts. Also, we will be providing lunch for those still there at the end of the
exercise. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.

If a serious medical condition were to suddenly affect many people, such as in the case of an outbreak of pandemic flu or anthrax exposure, the university may need to distribute medicines to thousands of
people in a very short period of time. A Point of Dispensing (POD) site is a federally instituted best practice model designed to provide medications, vaccines, or medical supplies to a large community of
healthy people during a health emergency. POD sites will be activated in order to provide medication and/or medical supplies to the healthy community prior to the onset of illness in order to decrease
illness and prevent death. POD sites are locations that are both familiar and easily accessible to the community (i.e. schools, community centers, churches, etc.) and are designed to serve as a place for the
public to come and receive their medications, vaccines and medical supplies. The ultimate goal of a POD is to quickly provide these items to a large number of people in a short period of time.
